HBCU Concert Series – Powered by Wright Holding
The HBCU Concert Series is a traveling live music and culture experience created for Historically Black Colleges and Universities and their surrounding communities. Curated by Festival Director Stan Wright, the series brings festival‑level staging, sound, and talent directly to campus and near‑campus spaces, turning homecoming weekends, spring events, and special celebrations into full‑scale concerts with purpose.
Each stop pairs national and regional artists with student performers, DJs, and hosts, creating a space where students, alumni, and the local community can celebrate Black music, entrepreneurship, and HBCU pride together.
What the Series Delivers
• Big‑show production on campus
Full professional stage, lighting, and sound (SL320 mobile stage) scaled for outdoor quads, stadium lots, and campus greens.
• Curated hip‑hop, R&B, and island vibes
Lineups that mix charting artists, DJs, and local/opening talent tied to each campus culture.
• Student and alumni spotlight
Opportunities for marching bands, dance teams, choirs, DJs, and student entrepreneurs to perform, vend, and activate on site.
• Safe, well‑managed events
Professional security, production, and crowd management in collaboration with campus administration and local partners.
Impact for HBCU Campuses and Communities
The HBCU Concert Series is designed as more than just a show:
• Economic impact – Paid opportunities for student workers, local vendors, and Black‑owned businesses around each campus.
• Career pathways – Touchpoints with professionals in production, marketing, sponsorship, and talent management, plus on‑site internship and mentorship opportunities.
• Brand alignment – Space for mission‑aligned sponsors to invest in HBCU students and communities through visible, values‑driven support.
Partnership Opportunities for HBCUs
We partner directly with:
• Campus leadership and student affairs (programming and approvals)
• Student government and campus organizations (promotion and engagement)
• Alumni associations and foundations (sponsorship and fundraising overlays)
